In the fist half of 2008, Chinese exports to the US were valued at 116.79 billion usd, up 8.9%. Growth was 9 percentage points slower year-on-year and substantially lower than the country's overall foreign trade growth of 21.8%. In the first seven months, exports to the US grew 9.9%, an improvement from the first half but still a single digit growth figure. In the first six months, Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai and Zhejiang Province accounted for 75.7% of total exports to the US. However, Guangdong's export growth to the US moderated by 8 percentage points, Jiangsu's by 22.9 percentage points, Shanghai's by 7.6 percentage points and Zhejiang's by 8.7 percentage points.
